Meaningful Dialogue & Participatory Leadership
Many of the challenges that confound us in our work are complex, in our work, organizations, communities, relationships and even inside ourselves. In order to navigate and work effectively in these contexts, we need an understanding of the nature of complexity and we need to bring “complexity informed” tools and approaches.
Engaging and collaborating effectively and meaningfully with others, including inviting and working with our differences, is key, whether that is in how we engage in challenging conversations, how we design and host meetings or change processes.
Complex challenges also require us to work with stories and data in particular ways. We focus on spotting and working with patterns, learning experiments, and specific, complexity informed approaches to learning and evaluation. We also need to cultivate ways of thinking and states of mind that enable us to see more perspectives, be deeply curious learners and be adaptive and creative in our thinking. This applies at many scales.
This fall, are offering 3 programs for anyone wanting to learn, practice, and engage with others who are working with complex issues: people who are working to make positive change in complex contexts at any scale; people who want to bring meaningful dialogue, engagement and more genuine participation to their teams, organizations and communities and people wanting to be more conscious, clear and aligned and 'complexity minded' in themselves in their leadership, hosting and participation in work and life. Each of the 3 programs interconnects with the others, and can be taken individually or alongside the other offerings, in any order.

We just finished our spring Art of Hosting in Vancouver (with our excellent colleagues Kris Archie and Kelly Foxcroft Porier) and were again so inspired (and relieved) to connect with a room full of wise, active, caring human beings who are doing great work in our communities. Folks working in healthcare, education, food, community organizations, First Nations, spiritual communities, law, philanthropy and more. It is so good to learn together, connect and lift each other up in these times.
Feel free to reach out to us for more information about any of these programs, or to explore possibilities for custom programs, coaching or consulting support.
